Wild Boar Tea Towel, 2006     

Potent Sorcery a project room installation in Threads of Memory at Dorsky Gallery in 2006 brought together a number of bodies of my work related to the larger exhibition theme including: hand-knotted Webs, Palm Portraits beaded gloves, Domestic Alchemy sewn paper drawings and Astrological Curtains.  The title of this installation comes directly from the text incorporated into largest of the hand-knotted golden webs.  Inspired by E.B. White’s classic tale Charlotte’s Web, my webs are a sort of personal version of Charlotte’s Wilbur-saving messages -- sanctuary, seductive call, divine.

Domestic Alchemy is series of hand sewn paper portraits of century-old tea towel embellishments from 1863 Peterson's Women's Magazines, Viennese tablecloth embroidery, Russian dress patterns, and French wallpaper designs.
