My chandelier series is painted in ink and Flashe on vintage and contemporary paper maps. Thinking of them as portraits - they explore the light and shadow of identity: conceptual, energetic and visible. Like light, identity is a multifaceted entity that can be luminous or remain in the shadowy realm where conclusions cannot be easily drawn. They are a continuation of my interest in light as a metaphor, energy, or aura that melds the past with the present.
